ABOUT
Company Video:
Geophysx Jamaica is an exploration junior searching locally for greenfield mineral discoveries, focused on Copper, Gold and Rare Earth Metals. We are engaged in the most exciting and technologically comprehensive campaign in the history of the country. In a little over 5 years, we have covered most of the island, including over 30,000 geochemical assays to date, and thousands of line kilometers of airborne geophysics. We’ve employed local graduate geologists into our exploration teams and brought in expert explorationists from around the world to enhance their expertise. We are founded and operated on sustainable principles - in how we operate in local communities, and how we conduct our exploration activities. We operate to the highest international standards, whether required to or not, to earn and maintain community goodwill, including voluntarily submitting to and being licensed by NEPA, the local environmental and planning agency. Besides traditional geochemistry and ground-based observation, we also employ novel assay methodologies, as well as the most modern ground and airborne geophysical techniques. Going beyond the UAV “drone” surveys performed early on, we recently began our helicopter geophysical campaign, and we also operate an in-house core sampling program. As the result of a large and intense campaign, we are currently exploring dozens of license areas, including areas which have never been explored before.

Geologists and Geology Students:
Great opportunities available!
We are a Jamaican mineral exploration company and are expanding our outdoor and lab teams. Temporary sample collection team positions are available for up to $5,000 per day. Gain invaluable real-world experience in Soil, Stream and Rock sampling techniques. Become a team leader and see Jamaican geology in a new perspective! You may also get to learn the practical applications of aerial mapping, XRF and Hyperspectral scanning, airborne magnetometry, as well as novel sample preparation, microscopy and assay techniques.
Candidates must be willing to work outside in varied weather conditions and for extended periods in the daytime. As most geology students have already experienced, work will be performed in a variety of locations, sometimes including those with limited access, and candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of performing outdoor sample work, including hiking and occasional lifting of equipment or samples. Due to the nature of mineral exploration, sample work can occasionally entail the inadvertent collection of potentially hazardous materials.
